The Women’s Foundation of Minnesota is committed to managing financial resources efficiently, effectively, and transparently.

Annually, the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota engages independent auditors to audit our financial statements and review the effectiveness of our internal controls. Results of our audit are typically released in August. These are available for download below.
Additionally, the Foundation prepares an annual IRS Form 990, an informational return for U.S. tax-exempt organizations and nonexempt charitable trusts reporting assets, investments, expenses, and grant activity. These are available for download below.

Overhead in Grantmaking
We make strategic investments to maximize the impact of our grantmaking, policy, and research. Our grantmaking policy is to support no more than 15% of an organization’s general operating budget through program and project-specific grants.

Charity Navigator
The Women’s Foundation of Minnesota’s strong financial health and ongoing accountability and transparency have earned a 100/100 rating from Charity Navigator’s Encompass Rating System. This score designates WFM as an official “Give with Confidence” charity, indicating that the Women’s Foundation uses its donations effectively based on Charity Navigator’s criteria.

The Foundation completes the Charities Review Council’s Accountability Standards Review process every three years, and renewed its Meet Standards seal in 2023.
